ONLINE PUBLIC MEETING SUNDAY: Mobilize the working class behind the Boeing strike! Break the IAM-imposed isolation!

On Sunday, September 22, at 2:00 p.m. Pacific/5:00 p.m. Eastern, the Boeing Workers Rank-and-File Committee is holding an online meeting to mobilize the broadest support in the working class for the 33,000 striking Boeing machinists.

The strike is currently the high point of the class struggle in the United States. Workers are determined to fight for what they’ve lost over a decade of effective wage cuts and skyrocketing cost of living. Workers are also demanding the restoration of their pensions, which the International Association of Machinists leadership gave up 10 years ago.

The strike itself was initiated by a rank-and-file rebellion, which erupted after the IAM bureaucracy endorsed another sellout contract which met none of the basic needs of workers. By 95 percent, workers rejected the tentative agreement and voted by 96 percent to strike for the first time since the walkout in 2008.

Workers rejected the dictates of the company and IAM leaders, who insisted that they pay for the aerospace giant’s crisis, which is the product of corporate management’s sacrifice of safety and lives for profits.

Workers now face a fundamental challenge. The IAM bureaucracy, Boeing and the Biden administration are conspiring to wear workers down and starve them into submission. Workers are determined to fight, but they cannot wage this battle alone.

The Boeing Workers Rank-and-File Committee was formed to provide workers with the means to take control of the strike, countermand every effort by the IAM bureaucracy to sabotage the struggle and reach out to the broadest sections of workers for a joint struggle. Sunday’s meeting will discuss how to link up the fight of Boeing workers with railroaders, dockworkers, educators, autoworkers, healthcare workers and all sections of workers in a fight for their basic social rights.

Join this meeting to hear from Boeing machinists and others to discuss the strategy for this fight. We urge all our readers, especially Boeing workers and others in aerospace and logistics, to register for this meeting and share this announcement widely with your coworkers and on social media.
